Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
My Money Mentors Pty Ltd (ABN 63 683 148 843), trading as My Money Mentors (“we”, “us”), is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We run this website as a marketing and referral service: we're not a lender, mortgage broker, financial adviser or tax agent. If you ask for help, we pass your request to the business we work with that suits it. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information.
1. What we collect
When you answer our questions
- your answers: your main goal (reduce tax, pay off your mortgage faster, improve your super or property investment), then, as ranges rather than exact figures, roughly what your home is worth (or that you don't own a home), roughly how much is owing on your home loan (or that it's paid off), your combined household income before tax, your combined household super, your age bracket and the state or territory you live in; and, if you started from one of our service pages (such as investment property or super), which one
- if your answers show the businesses we work with aren't the right fit for your situation, we tell you on the spot and don't ask for your name or contact details
- your answers even if you don't finish, kept for up to 180 days, but never your name, mobile number or email unless you send your request. We use these to understand where people stop and to improve the form, and we don't contact you because of them
- how you reached the site: the advertisement or website that referred you, campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source) and ad click identifiers (such as fbclid or gclid)
- technical details: IP address, approximate location worked out from the IP address (city, region, postcode area and internet provider; not your home address), device type and model where your browser shares it, operating system, browser, screen size, language and time zone, pages viewed during your visit, whether you've visited before, and how long each question took
When you send a request
- your name, mobile number and email address
- to confirm your mobile number, we text you a one-off verification code. We keep a log of codes sent (the number, time and IP address) for 30 days to stop misuse, even if you don’t send your request
- a record of your consent: the words of the box you ticked to accept our Terms and Conditions, which version of the terms you accepted, the time, the page and your IP address
We don't ask for sensitive information such as health details, and we don't access your credit file.
2. Why we collect it
- when you send a request, to pass it and your answers to the business we work with that suits it, so they can contact you
- to tell you straight away if the businesses we work with can't help with your situation
- to keep records of referrals and consents, prevent spam and misuse, and meet our legal obligations
- to measure which of our ads and pages work and improve this website
3. Who we share it with
- The businesses that help you: when you send the form with the box ticked to accept our Terms, we pass your contact details and answers to the business we work with that suits your request: a licensed mortgage broker we work with (for investment property loans and debt consolidation), a financial adviser we work with (for financial planning and superannuation) or a registered tax agent we work with (for tax minimisation). It receives your answers (the ranges for your home value, mortgage, household income and super, your age bracket and state, and the service page you came from, if any) and contacts you by phone, text message or email. If you'd like help from a different kind of business as well, tell us and we'll pass your request on to them too. They tell you who they are and handle your details under their own privacy policy. You can ask us at any time which business received your details.
- Service providers who help us run our business, such as website management and hosting, data storage, email, text message delivery and advertising, under confidentiality obligations.
- Advertising and analytics platforms: the Meta Pixel, as described in section 5.
- Regulators or authorities where the law requires it.
My Money Mentors may receive a referral fee or other benefit from the businesses we pass requests to. We'll tell you which business received your details if you ask. We don't give your details to anyone else for their own marketing.
4. Your consent and your choices
- You can answer our questions without giving your name or contact details.
- We only pass on your request when you tick the box to accept our Terms, and only to a business that suits it.
- You can withdraw your consent to be contacted at any time by emailing info@mymoneymentors.com.au. We'll pass your withdrawal on to the businesses that received your details.
- Every marketing email or text includes a way to unsubscribe.
5. Cookies, advertising and analytics
The site uses your browser's storage to remember, for your visit, the ad or link that brought you here and the pages you've viewed, so they can be attached to your request.
We use the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising and show our ads to people who may be interested. These tools use cookies and record the pages you visit and which questions of the form you reach (the question names only, not your answers), and whether a request was sent. When you type your name, email address or mobile number into the form, the Meta Pixel collects them in hashed (scrambled) form so Meta can match visits to Facebook and Instagram accounts and measure our ads. This happens as you type, even if you don't send your request. Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy and may hold it outside Australia (see section 6). You can opt out through your browser settings and your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
6. Overseas storage and disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their data centres operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it's handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
7. How long we keep it, and security
Answers from unfinished forms are deleted after 180 days, anonymous usage records after about 13 months, and the verification-code log after 30 days. Requests you send are kept for as long as we need them to pass on and follow up your request and to meet our legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified. Your details are sent over an encrypted connection and access is limited to people who need it.
8. Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@mymoneymentors.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days.
9. Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email us at info@mymoneymentors.com.au and we'll investigate and reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. For how a business we referred you to handles your information, contact that business first.
